2026 Vermont Primary Election Candidate Guide to Food and Farm Security
Vermont’s 2026 primary election is almost here. Hunger Free Vermont, Vermont Foodbank, the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont, along with partners in achieving food security for all, shared a food and farm security questionnaire with all legislative and statewide candidates for the 2026 primary election.
These three organizations are members of the Vermont Food Security Coalition, where we work together, alongside communities, to shape policy that ensures everyone living in Vermont has the food they need to thrive.

Candidate surveys
We sent surveys to the candidates running for legislative and statewide office in Vermont in the 2026 primary. Hunger Free Vermont, Vermont Foodbank, and NOFA-VT put together this guide so candidates could share their perspectives on approaching food security for all in Vermont. This is not an exhaustive list nor is it an endorsement of any candidate. We will be adding responses from additional candidates as they are shared with us.
Our questions focused on issues of food security, the root causes of hunger, Vermont farming, and the role of state government in addressing these issues. Below are the candidates who responded to our survey.
