Democratic Candidate for Vermont House of Representatives in the Chittenden-18 District

What do you believe is the role of state government, if any, in ensuring that everyone living in Vermont has the food they need to thrive?

I believe that it is essential for the state government to ensure all of its residents have their basic needs met including access to abundant nutritious food.

What would be your policy priorities to move Vermont toward food security for all?

Universal school meal is a must. nobody should feel hungry in the state. I look forward to working with HFV for their policy recommendations as they know what is needed for Vermonters to be fed during any season when it comes to weather.

What do you believe are the root causes of hunger, and what should the state do to address those underlying factors?

Affordability and lack of knowing services available to Vermonters but sometimes it is the amount of paperwork to be completed that makes it difficult for Vermonters to access services. Streamlining the amount of paperwork will make it easier for Vermonters to access services they are entitled to receive.

How would you help strengthen the state’s agriculture and food economy to ensure Vermont farms can continue to grow the food we all need?

I will ensure that Farm to table is established in Vermont by having HFVT be the lens we used to make sure Vermont have fresh products in collaboration with farmers.
