3SquaresVT/SNAP

• Federal funding for 3SquaresVT/SNAP is secure through September 2026.

• You may have seen news that funding for 3SquaresVT/SNAP benefits will be taken from states if they do not report certain data to the federal government. While there are officials challenging this request, it’s important to know that benefits for people in Vermont are not at risk. You do not need to take any action, and you should receive your normal benefit.

• You may have seen news that federal officials will require everyone to re-apply for 3SquaresVT/SNAP. No state has received any concrete information about this, so you do not need to take any action. There are already systems in place that require people who get 3SquaresVT to re-apply to ensure they are still eligible.

Child Nutrition Programs

• Funding for programs that nourish children where they live, learn, and play—including school meals—is fully funded through September 2026.

• WIC funding is secure through September 2026.

Seasonal Fuel Assistance

• Funding for the Seasonal Fuel Assistance program in Vermont is secure, and now available to folks this heating season.
