What do you believe is the role of state government, if any, in ensuring that everyone living in Vermont has the food they need to thrive?
It’s up to the state to either set up or monitor distribution points. To ensure that the communitie needs are being met.
What would be your policy priorities to move Vermont toward food security for all?
In theory, I would support such programs. I would certainly have to look at the details on how they manifest.
What do you believe are the root causes of hunger, and what should the state do to address those underlying factors?
The cost of living. We are presently in an extraction economy and housing is un affordable. It is especially un affordable for working families. Obstacles need to be removed. Zoning periods need to be reduced. In Vermont citizens need more direct access to affordable housing.
How would you help strengthen the state’s agriculture and food economy to ensure Vermont farms can continue to grow the food we all need?
I would encourage more farmer to consumer food sales. I would seek to encourage more farm to local outlet distribution resources.
