Hunger Council of the Windham Region
In 2009, Northfield Savings Bank continued their funding for another three years to help Hunger Free Vermont expand the Hunger Council model to other areas of the state. With additional support from the Windham Fund, in 2011 the Hunger Council of the Windham Region was launched.
The Co-Chairs of this Hunger Council are:
- Lisa Pitcher, Director of Our Place Drop-In Center
- Margaret Atkinson, Executive Director of the Windham Child Care Association
most recent hunger council meeting:
The Hunger Council last met on April 12th (rescheduled from the March meeting) and focused on strengthening access to food for children while school is out. The agenda is available HERE and the meeting minutes are available HERE.

The Hunger Council meets next on May 17th, and will be will focusing on the connection between food and health. The draft agenda will be available soon.

The Food Pantries and Food Shelves Sub-Committee created a Healthy Foods Donation Guide in 2014, aimed at helping increase the nutritional quality of food donated to food shelves, pantries, or drives.
