Join the Northeast Regional Day of Action – Wednesday, April 30th
Congress is considering devastating cuts to SNAP that would increase hunger, and weaken our economy and food systems—harming not only individuals who rely on SNAP, but our farmers, grocers, and businesses.
It’s critical that Northeast states speak out together, loud and clear!
This Day of Action is a joint effort from anti-hunger organizations, retailers, grocers, farmers, and community members across the Northeast states to:
Raise awareness about the threats to SNAP & lift up local stories from people and businesses impacted by SNAP - get vocal on social media, Front Porch Forum, and more.
Flood Congressional offices with emails and phone calls - see below for instructions on how to take action now!
Stand in solidarity across state lines
What can you do to take action?
Contact Senator Sanders, Senator Welch, and Congresswoman Balint! There are two options for you to do that on this website (scroll down after you’ve read the instructions!).
Call their Offices - The first form below will allow you to contact each office directly—here’s how:
Once you’ve filled out the form with your information (make sure you have access to the phone connected to the number you provide!), click the “Call Me” button.
You will get a phone call! The phone call will provide instructions for how to complete the calls, including how to move from one phone call from the next (you DO NOT need to disconnect the line in order to call all three offices).
When you are connected to an office, you may speak to an aide (they are very kind!) OR you may be asked to leave a voicemail. Be prepared for either option.
Once that call is complete, you will be instructed to press * in order to be connected through to the next office.
USE THIS SCRIPT if you would like, or speak from the heart. Just remember to share your name, where you’re from (town), and ask them to oppose the proposed cuts to SNAP.

Email their Offices - The second form below will allow you to email all three offices at once—here’s how:
Once you’ve filled out the form with your information, take a moment to read the scripted email. Personalized emails make a huge difference, so please tailor the message so it speaks to what matters most to you—make sure you mention that you oppose cuts to SNAP.
Once the email message is done, click the “Next” button. You may need to provide additional information—some offices require a prefix (Ms., Dr., etc.). Once you’ve completed additional information, click the “Deliver” button.
