With support from the Canaday Family Trust, the Hunger Council of the Northeast Kingdom, which spans Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans Counties, was launched on December 11, 2015.

The Co-Chairs of this Hunger Council are:

  • Colleen Moore de Ortiz, School Liason and Public Health Nurse for the Vermont Department of Health, Newport Office

  • Reverend Ed Sunday-Winters, Greensboro United Church of Christ

Most Recent Hunger Council of the Northeast Kingdom Meeting:

The Hunger Council last met on Friday, 9th. The Council focused on two timely conversations: a review of the local holiday food programs in the area, and an exploration of creative ways to use data and stories to paint the picture of food security in the region. Upcoming Hunger Council Meeting:

The Hunger Council of the Northeast Kingdom meets next on March 8, 2019. More information and a draft agenda will be available soon.

All meetings will be held from 10:00 - 12:00 at the Barton Town Hall, 19 Village Square.
