Hunger Council OF THE NORTHeast Kingdom

With support from the Canaday Family Trust, the Hunger Council of the Northeast Kingdom, which spans Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans Counties, was launched on December 11, 2015.

The Co-Chairs of this Hunger Council are:

  • Colleen Moore de Ortiz, School Liason and Public Health Nurse for the Vermont Department of Health, Newport Office

  • Reverend Ed Sunday-Winters, Greensboro United Church of Christ

Most Recent Hunger Council of the Northeast Kingdom Meeting:

The Hunger Council last met on Friday, September 7th. The Council reviewed priorities for the coming year and discussed potential projects to explore. The meeting agenda is available HERE and meeting minutes are available HERE.

The Hunger Council also thanked Jeff Pierpont for his leadership as co-chair. Jeff has stepped down from this position, and we welcome Ed Sunday-Winters as our new co-chair.

Upcoming Hunger Council Meeting:

The Hunger Council of the Northeast Kingdom meets next on Friday, 9th. The Council will be focusing on two timely conversations: a review of the local holiday food programs in the area, and an exploration of creative ways to use data and stories to paint the picture of food security in the region. All meetings will be held from 10:00 - 12:00 at the Barton Town Hall, 19 Village Square.
