The Hunger Council of Addison County, our fifth Hunger Council, was launched in 2013 under the leadership of Frank Mazza and Emily Joselson.

The Co-Chairs of this Council are:

  • Lily Bradburn, Local Food Access Coordinator, Helping Overcome Poverty’s Effects (HOPE) -

Most recent Hunger Council of Addison County meeting:

The Hunger Council last met on March 12th. The Hunger Council held a workshop on how to take advantage of Vermont 2-1-1’s resources, followed by a group discussion on strategies to most effectively use data in our work. The agenda is available HERE and meeting minutes are available HERE.

Upcoming Hunger Council of addison county Meeting:

Our next Hunger Council meeting will be focusing on universal school meals in Addison County and Vermont - what’s happening now, what effects are they having in our schools, and what opportunities exist to make universal school meals available to all schools in the state. The Hunger Council will hear from Anore Horton, Hunger Free Vermont’s Executive Director, and review ways to spread information on this work. The draft agenda is available HERE.

All meetings, unless otherwise noted, are from 3:00 - 5:00 at the Counseling Service of Addison County in Middlebury. Hunger Council membership is open to anyone with an interest in increasing food security in the community.
