Government Shutdown Information

Because of the government shutdown, Vermont’s Department for Children and Families (DCF) will be issuing most February 3SquaresVT benefits early, on January 20th. These benefits will be for the entire month of February, so it is important that participants budget accordingly.

DCF is continuing to process applications, interim reports, and recertifications, and issuing benefits for February as federal funding allows.

  • If you completed your interview or submitted any requested verification by January 15th, DCF is processing your application and will be in touch with you regarding your 3SquaresVT benefits for February. If you have any questions about your 3SquaresVT benefits, call the Benefits Service Center at 1-800-479-6151.

  • If you still need to complete an interview, call the interview line at 1-877-403-7668. A benefits specialist will go through the interview with you and let you know what else you need to do.

  • If you still need to submit documentation or are still in the process of applying or recertifying, make sure to complete the process as soon as possible. DCF will process your case or application, and if you are eligible, you may receive benefits in February as federal funding allows.
