Government Shutdown Information: What You Need to Know
Most people got their February 3SquaresVT benefits early – around January 20th.
Due to the federal shutdown, most Vermont 3SquaresVT households got their February benefits early – around January 20th.
If you did not get early 3SquaresVT benefits early because you recently did paperwork for DCF, you should have received your benefits as normal on February 1st.
If you received your benefits early, you will not receive more 3SquaresVT benefits in February. 3SquaresVT benefits will be reissued in March.
If you received your February benefits early, you will not get extra benefits in February. Keep this in mind when you are making decisions about buying food. Your next 3SquaresVT benefits will be issued in March.
You do not need to rush to spend your 3SquaresVT benefits. 3SquaresVT benefits will stay on your EBT card until you decide to use them. They will not go away.
If DCF needs paperwork to approve your 3SquaresVT or keep your 3SquaresVT case open, send them the paperwork. If you have any questions, call the Benefits Service Center at 1-800-479-6151.
If you don’t currently receive 3SquaresVT, you can apply! DCF is processing all cases.
Retailers are accepting 3SquaresVT as normal. Call DCF if you run into any problems.
