Development Associate
Hunger Free Vermont seeks a full-time Development Associate to assist in the development, implementation, and execution of the organization’s annual fundraising and marketing plan including: corporate/foundation grant writing, special events, prospect research, media outreach, and coordination of the annual Hike for Hunger. Special projects may also be assigned by program staff to provide design support on print materials and web content.
Position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in all Microsoft applications, and working knowledge of database maintenance. Graphic design and website maintenance experience a plus. Good discretion and ability to coordinate priorities and handle confidential/sensitive information. Bachelors degree,1-3 years experience required, and ability to work some evenings and weekend. Cover letter and resume accepted through June 15th.
Community Advocacy Manager
Hunger Free Vermont seeks a full-time Community Advocacy Manager. This position enhances food security in Vermont through statewide advocacy initiatives that improve, promote and increase Vermont’s participation in federal nutrition programs as well as through the organization and staffing of regional Hunger Councils. Under the supervision of the Program Director, this individual develops HFVT’s federal and state policy agenda and coordinates the advocacy for the implementation of that agenda. This individual develops and maintains data on hunger and nutrition programs and creates handouts and presentations to disseminate this information. The Community Advocacy Manager also educates individuals and organizations about hunger issues and assists them in developing and implementing appropriate responses.
Position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven ability to work cooperatively, manage complex projects, and build positive relationships with internal and external partners. Bachelors degree and 4+ years of experience in advocacy or a related field. Must have a reliable vehicle for in-state travel. Position will be filled as soon as a well qualified candidate is identified.
