Lisa Long is honored to serve as Hunger Free Vermont’s Development Director. Since moving to Vermont in 2002 Lisa has held positions in media, grant writing, development, and event management with WPTZ-NewsChannel 5, Prevent Child Abuse Vermont, Fletcher Allen Healthcare, ECHO, and Burlington City Arts. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications with a minor in Political Analysis from Miami University in Ohio.
Lisa’s father owns a health food company in her native Chicago so she’s been raised on soybeans and tofu and an awareness of food as fuel. Her family is also full of educators and healthcare providers so, the blend of Hunger Free Vermont’s education and advocacy feels like home to her. When Lisa’s not at the office she’s busy serving on the Burlington Young Professionals Steering Committee and on the Poker Hill School Board of Directors.
Lisa lives in Underhill with her husband Grady, who teaches social studies at Essex High School, daughter Madeline, and son Henry.
